The Fox network has ordered five additional episodes of the "House" series, bringing its total to 18, Zap2it.com reported Tuesday.

The show has won positive reviews, largely for the performance of Hugh Laurie, the show's title character and a top-flight diagnostician who seems to hate humanity.

It's also held its own in the ratings, drawing about 6.7 million viewers per week.

A full-season order usually consists of 22 episodes, but "House's" relatively late Nov. 16 debut allows for the smaller order of 18.
