Free checkups planned for child safety seats

State police will offer free child passenger safety seat checkups throughout the state next week as part of National Child Passenger Safety Week.

One of these events is scheduled between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday at the state police station at 449 McCormick Road in Moon. Troopers will provide free child identification, tours of the station as well as other demonstrations, displays and free food.

At least one checkup will be conducted during the week in each of the 15 regional troops throughout the state. For more information, call any state police station or visit the state police Web site .
