The NAACP Pittsburgh Branch will hold its annual Freedom Jazz Concert at 5 p.m. April 21 at Dowe's on Ninth, 121 9th St., Downtown.

The Al Dowe Quintet and the Tim Stevens Project will host the benefit, which will include cameos from other Pittsburgh jazz musicians.

Tickets are $30, which includes a new adult National Association for the Advancement of Colored People membership.

TASTE OF THE NATION

Taste of the Nation's Pittsburgh event will begin at 5:30 p.m. today at the Omni William Penn, 530 William Penn Way, Downtown.

The nationwide benefit culls samples of food and drink from each region's best restaurants, caterers and wine merchants. More than 50 Pittsburgh-area restaurants are participating.

Tickets are $75. VIP tickets are $250 and include a Steelers Vodka Caviar Reception. Proceeds will benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, Just Harvest and the Hunger Services Network.
