Gamma Racquet Sports is partnering with Fischer
Gamma Racquet Sports is partnering with Fischer for the second year to combine their efforts to market tennis equipment in North America and Europe.
Fischer markets Gamma's line of tennis string equipment in Europe, while Gamma markets Fischer tennis racquets in North America. The international headquarters for the 24-year-old Gamma is located in Pittsburgh, on Herr's Island (Washington's Landing).
Founder, president, and CEO Harry Ferrari, says, "The alliance with the Ski+Tennis Division of
Fischer Gesellschaft mbH, Austria (the world's largest manufacturer of composite skis), combines Fischer's outstanding capabilities in developing world class composite tennis racquets and Gamma's outstanding capability in developing world class synthetic racquet strings, Ball Hopper pick-up baskets, stringing machines, racquet accessories and court equipment.
"By having Fischer concentrate on providing outstanding racquets and Gamma concentrate on all other tennis products, we are able to offer new and innovative products."
Gamma is introducing ESP Technology for 2003. The new Gamma string technology incorporates an excusive new core material that reacts to the impact of the ball against the string bed. The higher the impact, the stiffer the ESP core fibers become, generating greater ball pocketing and bite for maximum
control and spin. At lower impact speeds, the ESP core fibers are more elastic and reflect in a uniform manner to provide greater touch and feel.
Information about Gamma products and Fischer racquets are available at www.gammasports.com and www.fischertennisusa.com .

TENNIS TIP
For a successful service return, a player has to be proactive and reactive. To be proactive, decide what you are going to do with the ball before your opponent serves. Whether chip and charge, go down the line, or cross-court, plan first and then do it. To react successfully, watch the ball leave your opponent's racquet, turn your shoulders early to prepare and execute your strategy.
