Gardeners may register now for space in community garden plots at Twin Lakes Park near Greensburg.
The 20- by 20-foot plots are roto-tilled, roped off and numbered; they will be prepared for planting by May 1. A $6 fee covers the cost of site preparation. Gardeners are responsible for planting and maintaining the plot they are assigned.
The Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation makes the plots available on a first come, first served basis. To apply, write to: Garden Plot Program, Westmoreland County Bureau of parks and Recreation, RD 12, Box 203, Greensburg, PA 15601, or call 724-830-3950 and ask for a garden plot application.
