A Greensburg business and city street were closed for a few hours Monday because of a suspected natural gas leak. However, Dominion Peoples spokesman Elmore Lockley said crews were unable to find a leak or break in the line. He said the source of the odor remains undetermined. 'We're going to continue to monitor it, but the source of it is unknown at this time,' he said. The incident near the intersection of West Otterman Street and Westminster Avenue caused the evacuation of Charter Communications at 302 W. Otterman St., at 1:18 p.m., according to a message on the company's answering machine. Westminster Avenue between West Otterman Street and Hawthorne Avenue also was closed yesterday. 'They were permitted to return to the building yesterday after no breakage or leak was found,' Lockley said. In a gas line leak in Hempfield Township, a West Point couple was able to return to their home Sunday night after having to leave for about four hours. Scott and Melanie Spangler of 117 West Point Drive, Hempfield, had to leave their home at about 5 p.m. Sunday for safety reasons, Scott Spangler said. The leak was reported by a neighbor who smelled natural gas outside Spangler's home, Scott Spangler said.
