Julie Wisilosky scored 14 points and pulled in 10 rebounds as the Geibel girls basketball team beat host Mapletown 43-31 in Section 2-A. Emily Pennington poured in 10 points for the Lady Gators (10-3, 13-8).
Kaylin Mathews added 14 for the Lady Maples.
Geibel will host Langley on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Section 3-AAA
Lauren Irbin scored 24 points while Cecily Cabiggia chipped in 12 as the Lady Trojans topped the Lady Scotties (3-10, 6-14). Amber Tedlock also added 10 for Derry.
Amanda Buttermore, Beth Wisniewski and Emily Morrison each scored 10 for the Lady Scotties.
Southmoreland will host Mount Pleasant on Thursday.
Section 2-AAAA
Shannon Kovack scored 15 points, and Christine Salandra tossed in 14 to lead Connellsville (5-8, 9-13) to a win on the road. Alexis Metros netted 10.
Megan Chicone scored 10 points for host Trinity (2-10, 5-15).
Connellsville's junior varsity team also won, 42-41.
The Lady Falcons will host Uniontown on Thursday.
Deena Blanc scored 17 points as the Fillies punished visiting Canon-McMillan 50-14.
Laurel Highlands (10-3, 15-7) will visit Albert Gallatin on Thursday.
Jocelyn Chandler racked up 24 points, but Uniontown (4-9, 11-11) dropped one at home. Emily Fisher added 11 for the team.
Leigh Sherratt paced Peters Township (8-5, 14-8) with 19 points, and Laura Calabrese followed closely with 18. Katie Murphy tossed in 11.
The Lady Red Raiders will visit Connellsville on Thursday.
Boys Basketball
Jordan White poured in 24 points, including five 3-pointers, as Geibel (9-1, 13-7) picked up a win. Rob Ramsey finished with two treys and 16 points, and Travis Welc tallied 11.
Joe Clites led Mapletown with 18 points, and Andy Erjavek had 17. Drew Denham counted three 3-pointers among his 10 points.
The Gators will host West Greene in a make-up game on Wednesday.
Freshman Hockey
Eric Bogden scored a goal and an assist, and Joe Bucci tallied a goal as Connellsville lost a close one. Justin Flanders and Andrew Kaper each got an assist, and goalie Drew Harvey made 13 saves.
Daniel Moyer, Michael Kalafsky and Chaten Boscha all found the net for Hempfield. Moyer and Boscha also tallied assists. Bryce Musa stopped 13 shots.
Connellsville will visit Penn Hills tonight.
