Gilpin supervisors on Monday retained Joseph Vigna as chairman as part of the board’s reorganization.
Vigna has been in the position since 2007 and is in his seventh year as supervisor.
“I’d like to maintain the present tax rate and improve services, but it’s tough,” Vigna said.
The board raised taxes slightly for this year, but it was mostly offset by the elimination of the per capita tax.
Michael Steimer was elected vice chairman, and Richard Sproull will be in charge of road maintenance and equipment.
Dennis Wolfe will chair the finance committee, and Robin Varatto will be in charge of building and land use.
James Favero will be the township solicitor at a rate of $60 per hour, and the zoning board solicitor will be Larry Loperfito at $90 per hour.
