Bud's golf The Bud Murphy's Golf League will meet at 7:15 p.m. March 23 at Bud Murphy's. League members as well as anyone interested in joining the league should attend. Timber Ridge GC Timber Ridge Golf Club will officially open to the public April 9. Tee times can be scheduled from 7:30 a.m. through the afternoon. A kickoff party will be held April 8. For more information, call 724-547-1909. Hockey C'ville hockey The Connellsville Hockey Parents will meet at 6:30 this evening in Room 128 of the high school. Election of officers for next year and final plans for the year-end banquet will be discussed. All parents are encouraged to attend. Baseball C'ville Pony The Connellsville Pony League will hold sign-ups from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the concession stand in Trotter. All players ages 13-14 must register. The cost is $25 per player. The first practice for new players will be held Monday, and anyone that still needs to sign up may do so at this time. C'ville LL The Connellsville Little League will hold an ASAP safety program for District 9 at 2 p.m. Saturday at the major field for all coaches, managers and safety officers of each league. = Anyone interested in becoming an umpire should contact Bill Teets at 724-529-7697. Fay-West Youth The Fay-West Youth Baseball League will be holding sign-ups from 2-4 p.m. Saturday and March 26 at the Jacobs Creek Park concession stand. Sign-ups will also take place from 6-8 this evening, as well as March 23 and 30. The league is open to boys and girls ages 4-12. The cost is $25 for the first child and $15 for each additional child in the same family. Every player will receive an all-day ride pass and free bus ride to Kennywood Park. Outdoors SC Rod and Gun The South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club will be having a hunter/trapper safety class from 6-10 p.m. April 22, and from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. April 23. Students must be 11 or older to take the class, and they must attend both days. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. Class size is limited. To pre-register, call Scott Blocker at 724-626-8399. Dunbar Sportsmen The Dunbar Sportsmen will hold a shoot at 1 p.m. Sunday at the club. Shotguns and .22s are permitted. Refreshments will be available and all are welcome to attend. C'ville Sportsmen = New gate keys will go into effect April 1 at the Connellsville Sportsmen's Club. Gate keys can be purchased for $10 and are valid for two years. Keys can be purchased at Bikes Unlimited, at the Shamrock Shoot or at the regular club meeting March 29. = The Twi-Night Trap League will begin on March 24. The first shoot at Connellsville will be held March 31. Softball City Ball City Ball Heat will hold a softball clinic for all girls ages 12-18 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. Basketball Youth clinic Penn State-Fayette will be offering free basketball and cheerleading clinics on March 25 for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The basketball clinics are from 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. The cheerleading clinic will run from 1-2:45 p.m. All participants are asked to bring canned goods, which will be donated to the Fayette County Community Action Food Bank. Miscellaneous Hot Shots events = Hot Shots will hold a soccer, basketball and volleyball triathlon April 16-17. All games will be played with five players per side, and a team can have no more than seven players registered. All registered players must participate in all three sports. The team fee is $150. The season begins in April. = Hot Shots will be hosting a two-on-two inline hockey tournament March 26.
