Just one word can be used to review this product: AMAZING!

Pulling a brush through my 8-year-old daughter’s morning bed head or her post-pool knots is like pulling teeth in my house. Now, she rushes straight for Goody’s TangleFix Brush — without being told. I consider that a success.

I can’t begin to know how the brush works, just that it does. There is no grabbing or pulling of the hair with the TangleFix and its two-layer bristle system. No matter how tough the tangles, the Goody brush gets through without ouches or tears.

Because the brush glides over hair with such ease, it is not made for styling. You will still need a regular brush to pull hair into a ponytail, because it does not grab the hair. Somehow, though, it does the job Goody claims, and that’s enough for me.

Even my husband’s fear of brushing our daughter’s hair has disappeared with the use of the TangleFix brush. He gives the brush and A+.

This compact miracle will definitely be making the trip to the beach.

My fine blond, semi-wavy hair tangles. And I like to drive with the windows down when the weather permits. So, the Goody TangleFix Brush would seem to be a good fit for me. The hand-size, no-handle unit fits on a bathroom shelf, in a tote bag or even in the storage space on the dash of my car. It whips through tangles in wet or dry hair, catches and pulls no more than my normal brush and the two-level, short bristles make it easy to clean.

I had just two issues with the TangleFix: The bristles, while flexible, were scratchy (fine hair doesn’t offer much cushioning), and, after using it for nearly a week, the ends of my hair looked more frizzy than normal. That could have been from the weather, but it also could be from the brush.

My hair is fine and probably longer than it should be. Even with the use of a good conditioner, I often end up fighting with a tangled snarl of hair when brushing out my wet head. I was surprised at how the very soft, multilevel bristles moved smoothly and quickly through my wet hair, as promised.

The TangleFix is a handheld brush without a handle that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. I’m not sure if that’s one of the reasons it works so well. But I can say its compact design made it fit nicely in my heading-to-the-pool beach bag.

I tried out the brush on an impatient 3-year-old with shoulder-length hair to great success. And I lost possession of my TangleFix to my 12-year-old houseguest, for whom it became the go-to styling product. But at this price, picking up another will not be a problem.
