So now we have the East Allegheny School District teachers union rejecting the latest “last best” offer presented to them by an arbitrator, and threatening another strike this school session.
My advice to those teachers is to spend their summer (what will be left of it after school recesses) sending out resumes en masse to school districts nationwide, as EA should be seeking to break up this public menace and showing them to the door.
A third party has intervened and suggested a plan, which was accepted by the district (i.e. taxpayer representatives), but that's just not good enough.
Public union greed has reared its ugly head again, and it needs to be lopped off, probably with the same axe the union is wielding over John Q. Public and its students. After all, isn't it supposed to be “for the children”??
