Greensburg high school roundup: Greensburg Salem topples West Shamokin
A fast start helped the Greensburg Salem boys basketball team claim a 45-42 victory over West Shamokin on Tuesday in a Section 3-AAA contest.
Kacee Carter had 14 points, Conner Forkey had 11 and Marvel McGowan scored 10 for the Golden Lions (3-2, 2-0).
Indiana 67, Mt. Pleasant 47 — Dylan Stapleton scored 22 points, and Jake Benhart added 18 to guide Indiana (2-3, 1-0) to a Section 3-AAA win. Aaron Bunting had 11 points for Mt. Pleasant (1-3, 1-1), which fell behind 33-15 at halftime.
Southmoreland 68, Derry 39 — Brandon Stone’s 15 points led four players in double figures as Southmoreland (3-2, 1-1) won in Section 3-AAA. Justin Ray scored 15 for Derry (0-5, 0-2), which trailed 34-14 at halftime.
Laurel Highlands 46, Ringgold 44 — Jake Swartz had 14 points, including a three-point play in the final minute, to lead Laurel Highlands (3-2, 2-1) to a Section 4-AAA win.
Norwin 59, Albert Gallatin 51 — Gage McCracken scored 21 points, and Anthony DelleFemine had 12 to help Norwin (3-3, 2-0) pick up a Section 1-AAAA win. Tavian Mozie had 21 points for Albert Gallatin (3-2, 0-1).
Latrobe 88, Connellsville 56 — Austin Butler scored 24 points, and Sean Graytok added 22 to help No. 4 Latrobe (5-0, 2-0) to a Section 1-AAAA victory. Ty Evans had 15 points and Seth Younkin added 13 for Connellsville (2-3, 0-2).
Penn-Trafford 55, Kiski Area 46 — Sean Stinelli scored 16 of his 21 points in the second half to lead Penn-Trafford (4-1, 1-1) to a Section 1-AAAA victory. DeShawown Bracy led the Cavaliers (1-4, 0-2) with 18 points.
Franklin Regional 49, Armstrong 40 — Todd Summers and Nate Leopold both scored 13 points to lead Franklin Regional (4-2, 2-0) to a Section 2-AAAA win.
Allderdice 68, Hempfield 30 — James Jackson scored 20 points, and Tim Jackson added 16 to help Allderdice (4-0) earn a nonsection win. Zach Mesich had 11 points for Hempfield (3-2).

Franklin Regional 50, Armstrong 39 — Kassidy Hubert tallied 17 points as Franklin Regional (4-1, 1-1) picked up a Section 2-AAAA win.
Belle Vernon 70, Ligonier Valley 60 — In nonsection play, Rylie Campbell had 14 points to lead Belle Vernon (2-5). Mackenzie Jester had 23 points, and Olivia Miller added 22 for Ligonier Valley.
Norwin 53, Canon-McMillan 40 — Jenna Cole had 16 points as No. 2 Norwin (6-0) earned a nonsection win.
