Greyhound passenger subdued with Taser in Washington

A woman who police say got into an spat with a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus and then attacked the driver when he intervened in Washington County was subdued with a Taser when she ran from officers.

The incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday along Interstate 70 in North Franklin. The bus driver told police that the woman, whose name was not released, got into an argument with a male passenger and started throwing items and hitting him, according to a police report.

The driver pulled over the bus and tried to calm the situation but the woman began striking him and tried to grab the vehicle's controls. There were about 50 passengers on board.

When state police arrived the woman was standing outside the bus. Police said she "seemed incoherent and confused" and and failed to follow orders. When police began interviewing the driver, the woman ran into traffic, police said.

Troopers stopped her by using the Taser and then pulled her off the roadway. She was taken to Washington Hospital for a mental health evaluation. The woman was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
