An armed gunman robbed a North Charleroi convenience store early Tuesday morning, taking an undetermined amount of cash.

State police at Belle Vernon reported that the CoGo's convenience store, 750 Lincoln Ave., was held up at 1:45 a.m. by a man who brandished a black revolver. The store clerk, who police did not identify, gave the robber money from the cash register and he fled the store.

The robber was described as a black male in his early 20s who wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a red bandanna covering his face. He was described as being about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build.
