A youth gang in Liverpool, England, subjected a couple to "happy slapping," and a gang member used a mobile phone to record the incident. Steve and Mirryn Lloyd were walking through Liverpool's Toxteth area when they were attacked by the gang, the Liverpool Echo reports. Lloyd was knocked to the floor and kicked and punched, while his wife suffered a cut and a bruised head in the attack, the report said. They were rescued by fire crews fighting a blaze in the vicinity. Happy slapping is the name given to unprovoked attacks where victims are assaulted and a phone video of the incident is sent to other mobile phones and posted on the internet. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
