Blood at the scene has linked a man to a bar break-in last year.

Lower Burrell police charged John Allan Gamble, 37, of Village Green Drive in the Natrona Heights section of Harrison with breaking the glass on two doors of the Lamp Post Bar on June 16, 2008.

Gamble is accused of then breaking into several poker machines and the cash register.

According to a report filed by Detective Sgt. Scott Cardenas, blood drops were left on the sidewalk, on the floor at the front door and inside a plastic bin inside a poker machine.

Police said more than $350 was taken from the machines and cash register.

The state police lab said the blood matched Gamble's DNA sample taken after other arrests.

According to a police affidavit, Gamble told Cardenas he was living with a woman along Macbeth Drive, about a block from the bar, for three months last year.

Gamble is charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

He has been held since Thursday in the Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bond.
