Copeland — who has gained attention for her athletic, nontraditional physique for a ballerina — will share the secrets of how to reshape your body and achieve a lean, strong physique for glowing health. Born in Kansas City, Mo., and raised in San Pedro, Calif., she began her ballet studies at age 13. At 15, she won first place in the Music Center Spotlight Awards. In 2008, Copeland was honored with the Leonore Annenberg Fellowship in the Arts, a two-year fellowship awarded to young artists who exhibit extraordinary talent providing them additional resources in order to attain their full potential. In 2014, then-President Barack Obama appointed Copeland to the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition. The event, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Elsie Hillman Auditorium at the Kaufmann Center, is sold out. It is sponsored by the Hill House Association.
