Joy Starzl unveiled the life-size bronze statue of her late husband, Dr. Thomas Starzl, on Saturday outside the Cathedral of Learning in Pittsburgh.

Starzl, who founded the nation's first liver transplantation program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1981, died March 4, 2017.
