Here is what you need to know if you plan to sign up for health insurance under the ACA
There’s still time to enroll in a health care plan through the federal health insurance marketplace. Don’t know where to start? You’re not the only one. Though the federal government handles enrollment through the HealthCare.gov website, state and local agencies have resources available to help you through the process. Here’s what the Pennsylvania Insurance Department recommends if you need help getting started.
•Go to www.HealthCare.gov. That’s the website that hosts enrollment. Not sure where to start? Check out resources through the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.
•There, you can connect with Navigators in your area. Local organizations and nonprofits receive grants to train their staff to help you understand how to choose a plan and get enrolled. You can make an appointment to meet with them in person.
•You’ll also find a resource called Consumer’s Checkbook, which provides online, step-by-step instructions for selecting a plan.
