Herrmann stands out for FC

Riley Herrmann, a senior, has been playing volleyball since she was in the eighth grade.

But this was the season to remember.

Herrmann helped lead the Foxes to the WPIAL championship match and into the PIAA playoffs.

Now that the season has ended, Hermmann can look toward the future.

She said she has not yet chosen a college, but she wants to major in biology and hopes to play volleyball at the club level.

Here's a closer look at Riley:

Q: Who have been your role models?

A: My mom and volleyball player Blair Brown.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: Reading and listening to music.

Q: Is there a food you refuse to eat?

A: Peas.

Q: What celebrity or athlete would you like to see disappear from public view?

A: Snooki.

Q: What movie could you watch over and over?

A: “The Shawshank Redemption.”

Q: What's your favorite TV show?

A: “Parks and Recreation.”

Q: What's your favorite subject in school?

A: Latin and biology.

Q: Do you miss NHL hockey?

A: Yes. I'm a big Penguins' fan.

Q: Who's your favorite athlete?

A: Sidney Crosby.

Q: Who would be your dream date?

A: Ryan Gosling. (For those keeping track, this is the fifth week in a row that a Ryan has been chosen- three Ryan Reynolds and two Ryan Goslings.)

Q: What traits turn you off in a person?

A: Being a know-it-all and selfishness.

Q: What would make up your all-time favorite meal?

A: Chicken parmesan and pumpkin pie.

Q: Who would you like to trade places with for a day?

A: The president.

Q: What's the wildest, craziest thing you've ever done?

A: I've jumped off of a lot of high cliffs into water in Canada.

Q: People would be surprised to know that …

A: ...I have torn both ACLs in my knee.
