The second-seeded Lincoln Park boys basketball team held a 3-0 lead seconds into a WPIAL Class AA quarterfinal-round contest Monday night. But after that, No. 7 seeded Quaker Valley never trailed and upset the defending Class A champion Leopards, 65-54, at Ambridge.

Chris Conlan scored 18 points, Clay Noyes had 16 and Tyler Garbee added 13 to pace the Quakers (19-5), who will play No. 3 Seton-La Salle, the defending Class AA champ, in the semifinals Wednesday at a time and site to be determined.

Lincoln Park, which will play OLSH in the play-in round tonight at Ambridge, was led by Nelly Cummings’ 23 points.

Aliquippa 74, Bishop Canevin 51 — No. 1 Aliquippa improved to 23-0 with a Class AA quarterfinal-round victory at West Allegheny. The Quips will play No. 4 Greensburg Central Catholic in the semifinals. No. 8 Bishop Canevin (18-6) plays Neshannock tonight at Canon-McMillan in the play-in bracket.

Seton-La Salle 60, OLSH 54 — Ryan Norkus scored 22 points and surpassed 1,000 points for his career as No. 3 Seton-La Salle (22-2) won a Class AA quarterfinal-round game at Canon-McMillan. Hunter Szilagy scored 26 points for No. 6 OLSH (15-8).

Chartiers Valley 65, USC 50 — Matty McConnell scored 20 of his 33 points in the first half to lead No. 2 Chartiers Valley to a Class AAAA quarterfinal-round win at Baldwin.

No. 10 Upper St. Clair (17-7) cut the lead to three in the second quarter,but a 12-5 run, topped by a McConnell 3-pointer at the buzzer, gave Chartiers Valley (21-3) a 31-21 lead at halftime.

Andrew Wheeler led the Panthers with 11 points. The Colts will play North Hills in the semifinals Wednesday. Upper St. Clair will play Mt. Lebanon in the play-in round tonight.

N. Allegheny 65, Bethel Park 63 — With the score tied, North Allegheny’s Cole Constantino hit a go-ahead runner with 1.7 seconds left to secure a Class AAAA quarterfinal-round victory at North Hills. Constantino had 26 points for No. 1 North Allegheny (21-2), which is in the semifinals for the third straight year. Joey Mascaro scored 23 with 11 in the fourth quarter for No. 9 Bethel Park (16-7).

North Hills 37, Mt. Lebanon 33 — Nick Sabolovic had 14 points to lead No. 11 North Hills (13-10) over No. 3 Mt. Lebanon (18-6) in the Class AAAA quarterfinals at North Allegheny.

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 59, Sewickley Academy 49 — At Fox Chapel, Timon Gribbin scored 15 points to lead No. 4 CWNC (15-9) to a win in the Class A play-in round. Justin Pryor had 14 points for No. 1 Sewickley (22-2).

Girls basketball

Blackhawk 83, Trinity 44 — Led by Chassidy Omogrosso’s 35 points and 24 from Courtney Vannoy, No. 1 Blackhawk (21-3) cruised to a Class AAA quarterfinal win at North Allegheny. Sierra Kotchman, Mary Dunn and Abbey O’Connor had 11 points each for No. 8 Trinity (17-7), which plays Beaver tonight in the play-in round.

Chartiers Valley 54, Beaver 40 — Karley O’Keefe accounted for four of the Colts’ six 3-pointers and had 15 points to lead No. 4 Chartiers Valley to a Class AAA quarterfinal-round win at Baldwin. Chartiers Valley (20-4) built a 15-11 lead after one quarter but held Beaver scoreless in the second quarter to go into halftime ahead by 16.

Lexi Posset had a game-high 16 points for Beaver (17-8).

Eliz. Forward 67, McGuffey 51 — Abigail Sporio scored 22 points as No. 6 Elizabeth Forward (19-5) used balanced scoring in a Class AAA quarterfinal-round victory over No. 13 McGuffey (18-7) at Canon-McMillan.

Jessica Palady contributed 19 and Olivia Barkley added 11 for Elizabeth Forward, which will meet No. 10 South Fayette in the semifinals Wednesday.

McGuffey was led by Sammie Weiss’ 22 points and Rachel Czulewicz, who reached 1,000 career points.

South Fayette 48, South Park 45 — At North Hills, Emily Anderson had 17 points and Mikayla Fetchet added 10 to help No. 10 South Fayette (18-6) to victory at North Hills. Natalie Clydesdale scored 17 for No. 15 South Park (14-11).

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 67, Jefferson-Morgan 27 — Abby Goetz scored 14 points and Emma Cullo and Sam Breen added 13 each to lead No. 2 CWNC (19-5) to a Class A quarterfinal-round win at Peters Township. The Trojanettes will face Riverview in the semifinals Wednesday. No. 7 Jefferson-Morgan (20-3) will play California in the play-in round tonight at Peters.

Quigley 52, Serra Catholic 35 — Gabrielle Smith scored 18 points to lead No. 4 Quigley Catholic (19-4) to a Class A quarterfinal-round win at Ambridge. Katie Sieg scored a game-high 20 points for Serra Catholic (14-8).

Riverview 42, California 38 (OT) — At Norwin, No. 6 Riverview pulled the Class A quarterfinal upset over No. 3 California (22-2), which had won 22 straight, as freshman Ariel Rafferty scored 16 points for the Raiders (17-7).

California, which rallied from seven down in the fourth quarter to force overtime, got 13 points from Kylie Huffman.

Vincentian Academy 84, Imani Christian 31 — At West Allegheny, Brenna Wise and Torrieonna Cash each scored 19 points each to carry No. 1 Vincentian Academy (23-1) to a Class A quarterfinal-round victory.

Shaler 49, Baldwin 26 — In a PIAA play-in bracket game, Liz Kline had 15 points and Andi Lydon scored 13 and had 13 rebounds to lead No. 6 Shaler (20-5).
