A Canadian man has been banned for five years from any Greater Toronto Hockey League arena for attacking his son’s coach. Bradley Desrocher also faces a criminal charge, the Toronto Star reported. He is free on bail. Desrocher’s 8-year-old son plays on a team at the Chesswood arena. He allegedly became infuriated when the coach, Mark Teskey, kept his son out of a game as a penalty for missing a practice. League President John Gardner told the newspaper the penalty is the longest ever handed out for what he called “an intolerable situation.” Desrocher allegedly reached over a partition and tried to choke Teskey. J.J. Lyon, an assistant coach who witnessed the incident last Sunday, said the penalty should have been longer. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
