PHILADELPHIA -- Hundreds of people paid their respects to a Philadelphia police officer who was shot and killed during an apparent robbery attempt after he finished his shift last week.

Mayor Michael Nutter was among those who attended Monday's funeral service for Officer Moses Walker Jr. at Deliverance Evangelistic Church in north Philadelphia.

Nutter said he's angry at the officer's death. He said Walker has impacted the lives of many people.

Walker was killed around 6 a.m. on Aug. 18 as he walked home from work in his civilian clothes. Investigators say two men followed Walker, then pulled a gun and announced a robbery. Walker drew his weapon and was shot three times.

Police have charged two men, including one who turned himself over Sunday to the FBI in Montgomery, Ala.
