"American Idol" finalist Vonzell Solomon's teary outburst was described Friday as a case of being "caught up in the moment."

"I just think she got caught up in ... the intensity and magnitude of the whole thing," former contestant Anthony Fedorov told the New York Post.

Solomon, the 21-year-old letter carrier from Florida, broke into tears after performing on Tuesday's live show -- attributing her emotional reaction to having a rough day.

"She was laughing and jumping around after the show," Fedorov said. "Her family was there and she was fine."

Fedorov, who was voted off the Fox TV reality show Wednesday, also said he and his fellow contestants haven't had time to pay attention to the controversy surrounding "Idol" judge Paula Abdul and her alleged affair with past contestant Corey Clark.
