In the next few months, iGate Corp. plans to complete a spinoff to shareholders of its information technology service business, which will be renamed Mastech Holdings Inc.

Findlay-based iGate said Thursday it's responding to Securities and Exchange Commission comments on the transaction. The current Mastech Group has its headquarters in Robinson.

Also, iGate reported an $8.41 million second-quarter profit yesterday, quadruple its earnings from a year ago. Its Global Solutions outsourcing unit in India represented about 57 percent of iGate's revenue for the quarter ended June 30.

The company's profit amounts to 15 cents per share, compared with $2.1 million, or 4 cents, a year ago. Revenue was $80 million, compared with $75.6 million last year.
