In being suspended, Ben joins ‘Pacman’ Jones, Michael Vick

Players suspended in accordance with NFL Conduct Policy:

2007 - Tennessee CB Adam "Pacman" Jones, entire 2007 season. Suspension followed at least 10 instances in which he was interviewed by police relating to various crimes, including a shooting at a Las Vegas club that left a man paralyzed.

2007 - Cincinnati WR Chris Henry, first eight games of 2007 season. Arrested four times in a 14-month span.

2007 - Chicago DT Tank Johnson, first 10 games of 2007 season. Spent two months in jail for violating probation on previous gun charge.

2007 - Atlanta QB Michael Vick, indefinite. Admitted in court he bet on dogfights and helped kill underperforming dogs. Missed 2007 and 2008 seasons due to 23-month prison sentence. Conditionally reinstated in 2009. Missed first two regular-season games with Philadelphia.

2008 - Dallas CB Adam "Pacman" Jones, indefinite. Involved in alcohol-related scuffle with a bodyguard the Cowboys hired to help protect him. Reinstated after four games.

2009 - Cleveland WR Donte Stallworth, entire 2009 season. Pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter charge.

Other notable NFL suspensions:

1925 - Chicago Cardinals B (cq) Art Folz. Banned for life after convincing four high school kids to play for the opposing Milwaukee Badgers as the Cardinals were trying to pad their record. Ban lifted in 1926 but Folz retired.

1947 - New York Giants QB Frank Filchock, FB Merle Hapes. Suspended indefinitely for failing to report a bribe. Suspension lifted in 1950.

1963 - Greeen Bay RB Paul Hornung and Detroit DT Alex Karras. Suspended for entire season for betting on NFL games.

1983 - Baltimore QB Art Schlichter. Suspended for entire season for betting on NFL games. A free agent in 1987, banned for life after pleading guilty to illegal gambling.

1989 - Washington DE Dexter Manley. Banned for life with opportunity for reinstatement after failing a third drug test. Banned for life in 1991 after failing a fourth drug test.

1995-2000 - Dallas DE Leon Lett - Suspended three times for a total of 28 games for repeatedly violating NFL substance abuse policy.

2006 - Miami RB Ricky Williams - Suspended entire season for violating NFL substance abuse policy.
