Three Indiana Area Senior High School students were charged with summary offenses of transmission of sexually explicit images by a minor on Friday.

State police Trooper Cliff Greenfield said high school administrators contacted police. An investigation determined that two 15-year-old females and a 17-year-old male sent each other improper images of a minor female through their mobile devices.

Charges were filed with District Judge Guy Haberl.

Greenfield said the students face fines and court costs.

Calls to school district administrators were not returned on Tuesday.
