Findlay Township residents don't have to leave home to reserve a pavilion.
The township is online with its Recreation Activity Module and Pavilion Reservations, which the public can access at the Findlay's interactive Web site, www.findlaytwp.org.
The recreation segment is one of several currently operational on the site, which township Manager Gary Klingman hopes to expand further.
The site has been up for more than a year, and Klingman said he didn't know exactly how many people view it, but based on calls and e-mails he receives, the number is increasing. At the beginning of the month, residents could reserve pavilions through the Web site, and some have done that, Klingman said.
"It's already starting to work," Klingman said.
In October of 2001, the township hired Four11Solutions as its e-government provider. Four11Solutions is a Pittsburgh-based company that serves primarily local governments by assisting them in providing enhanced e-services to their residents.
Klingman said the Web site also offers out-of-towners a chance to get to know Findlay Township before possibly moving there.
"It introduces Findlay to whoever wants to know about it," Klingman said.
On the interactive site, residents also can get copies of forms and register for activities such as a community scavenger hunt or first aid class.
Klingman said more services will be available for residents in the near future. The site will eventually be able to offer services such as community event schedules, community classifieds, community job postings, community announcements, on-line parking ticket payments, on-line citation payments and applications for permits.
The township pays $350 a month for the Web site, but Klingman said that fee will rise as the Web site gets more involved. Four11Solutions also got a $1,000 implementation fee.
