North Huntingdon Township native Bernard M. Sarsfield Sr. was named president of Ott Packagings Inc. of Selinsgrove, Snyder County. He has more than 40 years' experience in the folding carton industry and was vice president of corporate operations for Sterling Packaging Corp. in Jeannette and Jonestown, Pa. Ott is owned by Coatesville-based Penguin Industries.

PNC Bank promoted William Scales to senior vice president and chief information officer of the treasury management division. Scales has more than 20 years' experience in the banking and financial services industry and most recently was vice president of information technology and chief operating officer for principal capital.
A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc. of St. Louis named Nancy J. Lynches to head its branch office in Pittsburgh. She joined the company in 1992 as vice president of investments and most recently was manager of the Cranberry Township branch.
Great American Federal hired Lisa R. Bobrowsky as assistant vice president and manager of investments. She has more than 20 years of bank teller, audit, financial accounting and investment portfolio experience. Most recently, she worked for Allegheny Valley Bank of Pittsburgh as chief financial officer.
LEGAL
Jason W. Ummer joined Rothman Gordon as an attorney, where he will deal with trusts and estates. He most recently worked at Reed Smith and received his law degree from Duke University in 1972.
Michael A. Pratt rejoined Pepper Hamilton as a partner. Pratt, who began his career with Pepper Hamilton as an associate in 1986, left the firm in 1992 to become chief deputy city solicitor in charge of commercial litigation for Philadelphia. He returned to Pepper in 1994 and was named a partner in 1996. He left the firm again in 2001 to join Honeywell International Inc. as chief litigation counsel for corporate and toxic tort matters.

MarketPlace Direct Inc. named Jeffrey Yost marketing account manager. Yost, who has worked in the graphics and direct marketing fields for several Pittsburgh area organizations over 15 years, holds a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College.
HEALTH CARE
Pittsburgh-based plastic surgeon Leo R. McCafferty was appointed vice chair of the communications commission of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. McCafferty, a graduate of Penn State University and Temple University School of Medicine, is, in addition to his private practice, an assistant clinical professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
TECHNOLOGY
Contemporary Technologies Inc. of Pittsburgh hired Philip J. Lichtenfels as general manager of commercial ventures. Before joining CTi, Lichtenfels served as vice president of integrated services planning and operations for Systems Management Specialists/Marconi and managed that company's Monroeville data center.
NON-PROFITS
David J. Motak was named executive director for the Sweetwater Center for the Arts in Sewickley. Motak comes to Sweetwater after being manager of special events for the American Lung Association of Pennsylvania. Before that, he spent more than 16 years at the University of Pittsburgh in various posts.
OTHER
Peter M. Billey , president of Greensburg-based Right-Of-Way Clearing and Maintenance Inc., was elected president of the Dallas-based Pipe Line Contractors Association. Billey, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh's school of dentistry, founded Right-Of-Way in 1969.
Charles Blocksidge , dean of organizational development at the Community College of Allegheny County, was named to the Regional Industrial Development Corp. of Southwestern Pennsylvania's board of directors. Blocksidge, who held administrative posts in a number of local school districts, also was director of budget and finance and director of assessments for Allegheny County.
The Greater Pittsburgh Convention and Visitors Bureau appointed Kori Gassaway national director of sales, Chicago region. She is a North Hills native who was executive director of the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce and was a consultant for Equities Office Properties Trust.
Belden & Blake Corp. of Blairsville appointed Howard Dunn as local coal bed methane land coordinator. Dunn most recently was employed by Ener Vest in Clarksburg, W.Va., and Indiana, Pa. At his new post, he will be the landowners' main contact and provide information about coal bed methane drilling and extraction.
