Terry Totten got his dream job on Friday, becoming the head football coach at Central Catholic. "This is a job I've always wanted," Totten, 46, said. "This is a Notre Dame-type thing to me." Totten, a 1976 Central graduate, spent the past three seasons as the Vikings' defensive coordinator after nine years as an assistant at Duquesne University. Central is 38-5 in that span, winning two WPIAL Class AAAA titles and a PIAA crown. The Vikings held opponents to 36 points in seven playoff games last fall. "We're going to stress the same things on defense, flying to the football," Totten said. "We've got a good nucleus returning that we're excited about." Totten replaces Art Walker Jr., who took the North Allegheny job last month after leading the Vikings to two WPIAL titles and a PIAA crown in seven seasons. "Art did a great job," Totten said. "He built a great program, and we wish him well."
