A Jeannette man was arrested Wednesday on accusations that he pointed a loaded .44-caliber Magnum revolver at a neighbor who was put in the middle of a domestic argument.
Mark Vincent Repko, 42, of 615 Clark Ave., was arraigned yesterday before District Justice Mary DiClaudio, of Jeannette, on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a firearm and institutional vandalism.
Jeannette police allege that about 4:30 a.m. yesterday, Repko aimed the weapon at neighbor John Youngbauer, of 617 Clark Ave. This resulted after Repko's girlfriend, Priscilla Shaw, also of 615 Clark Ave., went to Youngbauer's residence after allegedly being assaulted by Repko earlier in the morning.
"(Repko) went to the back door and pointed the revolver at Youngbauer, who ran up the steps to the second floor," stated an arrest warrant affidavit written by Patrolman Mark Allen. "Youngbauer said that seconds later he heard a single gunshot on his back porch."
Police said they later found Repko in an abandoned home near Clark Avenue.
Repko told authorities that he dropped the handgun in a bucket outside his residence. Police said Repko also said that he discharged the weapon into the ground, not at Youngbauer's house.
When the gun was retrieved, it had four live rounds and one empty casing in the cylinder, according to the affidavit.
Police said Repko first struck Shaw shortly after midnight. Authorities allege he hit her about the head with a picture removed from a wall and also pushed his fist into her mouth after becoming upset over a party she had attended. He then left the home.
After this confrontation, Shaw went to Westmoreland County Night Court to seek an emergency Protection From Abuse, or PFA, order. When she returned, Repko assaulted her again, police said.
Police filed the vandalism charge against Repko after they said he caused a toilet to overflow while he was in a holding cell at city hall.
Repko was jailed in lieu of $26,000 bail.
