Jeannette man, 23, arraigned on teen sex charges

A Jeannette man was arraigned Thursday on charges of having sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl.

Michael St. Denis, 23, of 1829 Harrison Ave., was charged with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and unlawful conduct with a minor.

Jeannette District Judge Joseph DeMarchis set bond at $25,000. If bond is posted, St. Denis will have to report to pretrial monitoring twice a week, stay away from minors and refrain from using a computer. A 9 p.m. curfew also was imposed. A preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 15.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Westmoreland County detectives, St. Denis met the victim on the Internet in March 2006. They met at her residence in October and engaged in sexual intercourse, according to the complaint. After that meeting, they allegedly met several other times at various locations, including in St. Denis' car, for sexual activity.
