Actor Jeff Bridges has been cast in “Tideland,” a Terry Gilliam movie shot in Texas about a young girl who retreats to a fantasy world when her mom dies. The casting marks a reunion for Bridges and Gilliam, who worked together in 1991’s “The Fisher King,” the Hollywood Reporter said. “Tideland” centers on a man who relocates from Los Angeles to rural Texas with Jeliza-Rose, his young daughter, following his wife’s death. Steeped in grief, the man stares at a map on the wall, while the neglected and confused daughter turns to a fantasy world where she talks with headless dolls and befriends an eccentric lady next door. Jodelle Ferland, 9, stars as Jeliza-Rose, with Jennifer Tilly, Janet McTeer and Brendan Fletcher. © Copyright 2004 by United Press International
