Judge denies 2nd appeal of former Plum school official

An Allegheny County judge has rejected the second appeal filed by former Plum School District business manager Mark Lukacs.

Common Pleas Judge W. Terrence O'Brien dismissed Lukacs' appeal of his firing by the Plum School Board in April.

The board fired Lukacs, who was hired in 2000, after a disciplinary hearing. The district said Lukacs was responsible for blunders in the business office.

Lukacs has appealed to Commonwealth Court the dismissal of another action he brought alleging the board violated the Sunshine Act during his disciplinary hearing.

Lukacs had no comment on the ruling and referred questions to his lawyer, Bernard Matthews, who could not be reached for comment Monday.
