Keystone Oaks edges past Connellsville
Tim Brown scored two goals and Jacob Miller added a power-play marker, but the Connellsville hockey team was beaten at home by Keystone Oaks, 5-4, on Monday in PIHL Open Division action. Sam Wiatrak added a goal and Johnathan Herchko, Robert Coffman and Ken Robbins each had an assist. Devin Kalp was in goal and made 30 saves for the Falcons (1-7).
Ryan Rosato had three goals, including one short-handed, for Keystone Oaks. John Conley also connected for a short-handed goal and had an assist. Matthew Brestensky scored a goal, and Bryton Tomko and Ryan Ribeau each had two assists. Daniel Smee made 21 saves to get the win in net for Keystone Oaks (3-4).
Penn State-Fayette 101, Penn State-York 85 — David Winns scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, and Ryan Hart collected 13 points and 11 rebounds as the Roaring Lions opened PSUAC play with a victory at home Sunday. Brandon Cunningham scored 21 points, and James Pratt dropped in 18 points for Penn State-Fayette (2-5, 1-0).
Jahmal Ralls led Penn State-York with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Tyler Mitchell and Nick Doolin each scored 11 points, and Joshua Czerski added 10 points.
Penn State-Fayette 87, Penn State-York 68 — Jill Guthrie tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Caitlyn Wontroba added 19 points as the Roaring Lions earned a victory at home Sunday in their PSUAC opener. Jennifer Thomas scored 14 points, and Kasey Ruble had 13 points. Kaitlyn Novak added 11 points for Penn State-Fayette (2-3, 1-0).
Hannah Kuhn paced Penn State-York with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Shakayla Mitchell tossed in 28 points and grabbed 19 rebounds.
