The Carole King and James Taylor concert on June 26 will be Mellon Arena's closing act

The show has been officially dubbed "The Final Concert at Mellon Arena."

"We are thrilled to have these two renowned musicians as our final concert event at Mellon Arena," Jay Roberts, Mellon Arena/SMG general manager, said in a prepared statement. "The fact that they were here together for one of the most memorable concerts in arena history in February1971 adds an appropriate bit of symmetry to the nostalgia of the evening. James Taylor and Carole King represent the quintessential multigenerational appeal this arena has enjoyed for almost 50 years. It will be an honor to have them help us say goodbye."

The Maxwell concert, scheduled for July 10, has been cancelled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Tickets for the June 26 event are still available, with most remaining tickets priced at $68.25. They can be purchased at the Mellon Arena box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.

To charge by phone: 800-745-3000; online, www.ticketmaster.com.
