Kiski Area goes unbeaten at NH duals
Kiski Area’s Isaac Reid, the No. 1-ranked heavyweight in the WPIAL, went 5-0 including a first-period pin of the WPIAL’s No. 4-ranked wrestler in Sean Bright as the Cavaliers finished 5-0 as a team to win Saturday’s North Hills Duals.
Reid boosted his record to 10-0 for the season. Joey Blummer (145 pounds) finished 5-0 and took home outstanding wrestler honors.
The Cavaliers’ closest match of the day-long competition came in their fourth match with a 62-14 win over host North Hills as both teams went into the match undefeated. Kiski Area tallied two shutout wins over Brashear (83-0) and Penn Hills (84-0). The Cavaliers took care of Upper St. Clair and Central Catholic by the identical scores of 69-9 in Kiski’s first two matches to start the meet.
Vinny Romano (182) was perfect with five pins and a combined mat time of 11 minutes, 9 seconds through his five matches. Darren Miller (113), Nick Delp (152) and Logan Pollick (160) finished 5-0 for Kiski. Noah Levett (126), Matt Siscka (12 6⁄132) and Danny Starr finished 4-0. Bobby Lawrence (120), Cam Connor (138), Brad Nagy (170) and Tommy Starr (220) came away with a 4-1 record.
