In a non-section boys golf match, Kittanning held off visiting Ford City, 217-223, as both teams battled heavy winds Monday at Kittanning Country Club.

Kittanning (7-7) was led by Connor Cole and Troy Schall, who each shot 42. Jordan Klodowski was right behind with a 43, while Mike Hickman and Tim Barto shot 44 and 46, respectively.

Ford City’s Matt Cippel had a 3-over-par 38 to lead all players. Chris Ignatz (46), Matt Buzzinotti (46), Alex Gladysiewski (46) and Brendon Ignatz (47) also scored for the Sabers, who dropped to 8-2 overall.

Kittanning hosts a tri-match today with Hampton and Kiski Area, while Ford City continues section play Wednesday at Apollo-Ridge.
