Laurel: To the Ford City Relay for Life. Who knew that the fundraiser for cancer research would become such a local tradition on Father's Day weekend• Cheers to the creators and to the teams and volunteers who sustain it.

Condolences: To the family and friends of Joshua Waltenbaugh. The 19-year-old Kittanning Township man died while serving his country in the Army in Iraq. We grieve as a community for the family's loss.

Laurel: To event planners and volunteers. The summer season is under way. Waves of Thunder (motorcycles) rolled into Kittanning last weekend. Heritage Days in Ford City will be here before we know it. Enjoy!
