"Pride and Prejudice" star Keira Knightley has donated the gown she wore to the 2006 Academy Awards to raise money for the British charity Oxfam.

The dress is on display in Oxfam's London office and will go up on eBay for bids April 21, the BBC reported Friday. The auction is scheduled to end April 30.

"This is such an amazing dress and I am really pleased to be able to donate it to Oxfam," Knightley said.

The money raised by the auction will go toward Oxfam's efforts to ease poverty in drought-stricken East Africa.

"I have seen the TV reports on the horrendous drought in East Africa and I know how desperate things have become, so I am happy to be able to do something to help," Knightley added.
