A couple of weeks ago my wife and I traveled back to Ohio for a reunion. After the dinner, driving back to the hotel, my wife said she would like to have a glass of wine, so we stopped at a grocery to pick up a bottle.
How refreshing it was to go into a friendly grocery store and find a tremendous selection of any kind of wine you could think of, and fortunately our favorite brand of merlot was on sale.
Why can’t we have this convenience in Pennsylvania? Why are we limited to a selection chosen by the Liquor Control Board? I have never heard of a monopoly that benefits the consumer.
