Traffic on the Larimer Bridge in North Huntingdon will be restricted to a single lane starting Monday to accommodate a $2.2 million construction project, PennDOT announced.

The bridge, which carries Route 993 over Brush Creek, will be repaired and painted by Brayman Construction Corp. of Saxonburg.

From Monday through June 4, flaggers will be on site from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to control the traffic flow.

The bridge tentatively is scheduled to be closed from 6 p.m. June 5 through Aug. 23. A detour will be posted.

The bridge closure is being coordinated with the last day of school for Norwin students and is scheduled to be reopened by the first day of the new school year on Aug. 24.
