Late-night bingo ends at DL&V
I have been informed that the DL&V Volunteer Fire Department will no longer host late-night bingo games. Dawson VFD will continue to host its late-night bingo games as scheduled.
The Brownfield Community Center Public Library will remain closed until July 16. There will be no children's reading hour during the summer months.
The Leisenring Presbyterian Church will host its monthly food distribution July 18 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The East Liberty United Presbyterian Church of Vanderbilt will host its monthly food bank July 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Remember to bring a box or basket. Donations and volunteers are always needed.
Someone has been dumping diesel fuel in the creek that flows in Dawson. This is creating extra work hours for volunteer firemen and could possibly create problems with the Youghiogheny River. Thanks to Dawson firemen, most of what has been deposited has been removed. Anyone who sees anyone dumping anything in the river, should contact police.
Dawson Grange Community fair begins Aug. 6, when entries can be submitted noon to 6 p.m. Volunteers are needed as well as baked goods for the cake wheel. More information on the fair will be coming soon.
