Lawrenceville housing plan approved by URA

The city's Urban Redevelopment Authority is giving a team of developers a six-month option to develop a 46-unit housing project on two-parcel site in Lawrenceville.

The URA's board of directors on Thursday approved the option agreement with Urban Villages and Botero Development for the 55,230-square-foot site.

The developers plan to build a mix of residential townhomes, flats and lofts priced between $130,000 and $325,000 on the URA-owned property, directly across Hatfield Street from the former Heppenstall Steel manufacturing facility, owned by the Regional Industrial Development Corp.

Environmental remediation has been completed at site that at one time was home to former Heppenstall headquarters and the former Sauer building.
