Lawsuit claims ambulance service injured woman during transport

An East Pittsburgh woman filed a lawsuit in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court Monday against Guardian Angel Ambulance Services, claiming the private ambulance company was negligent when paramedics injured her while taking her home from a doctor's visit.

Charise M. Thrasher, 50, hired the company to take her home from her doctor's office, where she was having a cast removed, on Dec. 16, 2010, according to the lawsuit.

Paramedics shattered Thrasher's femur when one fell on her as she was being carried her up the stairs of her home. The lawsuit says Thrasher required surgery for her injuries. Thrasher is seeking in excess of $25,000.
