Construction crews are poised to install one of the most eye-catching features of the new Consol Energy Center.

Four 15-by-25-foot high-definition LED video scoreboards have arrived at the $321 million arena Uptown. Technicians began testing them Thursday. They were manufactured by Mitsubishi Diamond Vision of Warrendale.

Among the first test images to hit the screens in their new home were close-ups of the Stanley Cup and Penguins team captain Sidney Crosby. The scoreboards will hang over center ice in the 18,087-seat arena, which is set to be completed in July.

The scoreboard system cost $8.37 million, according to the city-county Sports & Exhibition Authority.
