Lee Iacocca, the media-savvy former head of Chrysler Corp., is 80-years-old and prepping for an encore ad campaign with his old employer.

Iacocca left Chrysler in 1992, but has agreed to appear in a series of TV commercials as part of a $75 million advertising campaign touting a new employee-pricing promotion available on most Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles, the Detroit Free Press reported Thursday.

The ads of the flamboyant former chief executive, who appears with former "Seinfeld" star Jason Alexander, began Thursday.

Iacocca gained fame by launching the original Mustang while an executive at Ford Motor Co. He later led Chrysler away from the brink of bankruptcy in the 1980s.
