'A warrior came out in him'

Leechburg Police Chief Mike Diebold has spent the past six months recovering from losing his arm in a fireworks accident. Now, he's ready to rejoin the police force.


Leechburg Police Chief Mike Diebold was badly injured June 24 by an exploding shell as he helped put on an annual fireworks show.

The accident cost him his arm.

For the past six months, the Trib has been following Diebold's road to recovery.
