Pittsburgh's Bureau of Building Inspection on Friday approved the reopening of LeMont restaurant on Mt. Washington, which had been closed for three days because of a landslide.

The bureau ordered the restaurant closed after tons of rock and soil directly below it crashed onto Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks paralleling Carson Street.

The slide didn't damage the building, but city officials ordered the closure as a precaution to be sure the hillside is stable. A LeMont representative said Friday afternoon the restaurant was open.
