Library offers art, Spanish classes

East Carnegie
Bishop Canevin High School, 2700 Morange Road, will have an open house for prospective students in grades 6-8 and their families from noon to 2 p.m. Jan. 12.
The program includes student-led tours, sports team representations, a financial aid presentation and a chance to meet administrators, faculty, staff and alumni.
Free placement tests will be at 9 a.m. Jan. 25, and children who are undecided may take them. To register for the tests or for details of either, call the school at (412) 922-7400, Ext. 20.
Leet Township
The Watson Institute, 301 Camp Meeting Road, is offering therapy to children and adolescents with autism or an autism-related disorder through a new program.
Called SCAFFOLD, which stands for Services for Children with Autism and Families Facilitating Outpatient Learning and Development, it also provides diagnostic and wraparound evaluations and medication management.

McCandless
Beginning in the spring, the La Roche College Parish Scholarship Program will award merit-based scholarships of $5,000 to young members of the Roman and Byzantine Catholic dioceses of Pittsburgh.
Parishes will nominate students, who should be high school seniors with grade point averages of at least 3.0. Recipients must enroll at La Roche full-time in the fall semester.
The scholarship is renewable annually if the student reapplies and maintains a 3.0 grade point average.

During the spring semester, Scott Robinson of Community College of Beaver County's Prevention Project will teach "Oral History of Beaver County."
